After you eaten at the Porthleven Food Festival, drink in the views at the Mount Haven
A visit to enchanting Porthleven is great at any time of the year, but for three days during April it’s particularly special.
April 24th to 26th sees the fifth Porthleven Food & Music Festival. And this year’s will be bigger than ever.
There’s so much going on, especially in the kitchen department. Cornwall has become a base, indeed a home, for several of the UK’s, if not the worlds’, leading chefs.
And there’ll be a sprinkling of them showing us how it’s done at the festival, including none other than Cornwall’s King of the Kitchen, Rick Stein, who’ll be cooking alongside his son, Jack at several demonstrations.
There’ll also be a good helping of Cornwall’s many local very talented chefs, and needless to say plenty of delicious food on the abundance of stands.
But a reminder the event is called the Porthleven Food and Music festival, and the music is provided by all sorts of gifted acts from an eclectic mix of styles on four different stages.
It’s going to be a popular event, and accordingly accommodation will be tricky to come by.
Fortunately the Mount Haven is a short distance just around the coast from Porthleven, so when your ears and taste buds have been pleasantly satisfied, give your eyes a treat too, with spectacular views of breath-taking St Michael’s Mount, which we look directly out at.
You might also like to sample how we fare in the kitchen, our restaurant is headed up by a rather talented chef too. Our very own Nathan Williams and his very able brigade have seen the Mount Haven Restaurant awarded 2 AA Rosettes.
